The movie I think of when I think of love triangles, mistaken identity, and star crossed lovers is She's the Man. I know it's one of the examples, but it really is what I thought of first! In this movie, Viola disguises herself as her brother Sebastian while he is in London, so she can play on the boys soccer team at his new school Illyria. She falls in love with her room mate Duke, who loves Olivia, who loves Viola. But in the end Duke finds out "Sebastian" is really Viola and he falls in love with her.
This movie is based off the play the Twenth Night by William Shakespear. I'm pretty sure a lot of movies these days are based off Shakespears plays because they were brilliant. People loved them, and I think people figure if they made them more modern, they would be a hit. It is a good idea, and the movies are good.

great job! i totally agree with you, alot of movie are based off of Shakespeare's ideas! keep up the great work!
go to! I used the same example as you. I really like the movie She's the man. haha i had to say go to because it's in our glossary of Shakespearean words. Good job Jill!
i used this movie too and i know it was one of the examples but i checked it out on the internet and it really does stay true to Shakespeare's original play. the love triangle and mistaken identity made this a good movie to compare. i liked your post and i agree with you that making these modern Shakespeare based films is a good idea.
i also think that a lot of movies today are based off plays that shakespear wrote :D
